Is lab-grown meat the future of food?

The meat is produced by cultivating stem cells taken from animal tissues, in a process that has a lower environmental cost than the traditional method - and with no slaughtering

In the near future, the so-called ‘lab meat’ should become a reality for everyone. The billionaires Bill Gates and Richard Branson have invested US$ 17 million in this new project, and, according to Branson, within 30 years, the technology may  satisfy 100% of the human demand for meat. However, cost is the current bottleneck: a hamburger costs US$ 300,000, and 450 grams of chicken, US$ 9,000.
