Could air transportation solve urban mobility?

A new project by uber, called uberAIR, will offer rides in flying vehicles. Operations will begin sometimes in 2023 in both Dallas and Los Angeles

Uber is taking to the skies. In uberAIR – the company’s project for urban air transportation – the flying vehicles will belong to uber and will work like hybrids of a small airplane, a helicopter and a drone. Access to these vehicles will be made through small city airports and helipads. Testing will begin in 2020 with operations scheduled to start in 2023 in Dallas and Los Angeles. The company says a round trip with uberAIR from San Francisco to Santa Cruz could save up to 4 hours for commuters.
